The BS - J area is underlain by a Paleocene to Eocene batholith composed of granite and alkali feldspar granite of the Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite which intrudes Upper Triassic volcanic rocks of the Stuhini Group, Upper Paleozoic rocks of the Stikine Assemblage and Lower Jurassic sedimentary rock of the Takwahoni Formation, Laberge Group.

On the property, rocks are described as medium-grained biotite-hornblende quartz monzonite intrusive containing pyrite, specularite, magnetite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and fluorite. There is a gradational contact between a quartz-monzonite porphyry phase, which hosts phenocrysts of quartz and feldspar, ranging from 6 to 10 millimetres in length. Along the western margin of the quartz monzonite stock there is a sharp contact with quartz-biotite diorite and diorite gneiss. They have undergone intense alteration and host abundant epidote, epidote veining, pyrite, and a gneissic texture. Migmatitic metamorphics are included with the Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite.

The quartz monzonite intrudes Upper Triassic Stuhini Group volcanics which are represented by dark, metamorphosed andesitic rocks, siltstones, and hornfels.

Most of the intrusive rock exhibits argillic and propylitic alteration with abundant chlorite epidote and carbonate. Secondary potassium-feldspar is commonly associated within shear zones and zones of intense fracturing. Limonite is associated with southwest dipping fractures.

Mineralization within the quartz monzonite consists of chalcopyrite, malachite, and trace amounts of molybdenite along steeply dipping northeast joints or on vertical fractures striking west-northwest. Malachite, azurite, and rare chalcopyrite disseminations occur within breccia, and as small, massive blebs and stringers within quartz-chalcedony-calcite veinlets. The mineralization is mainly controlled by northeast faulting and resultant fracturing. Magnetite is commonly associated with the chalcopyrite mineralization occurring on fractures and as disseminations.

A broad zone of mineralization, trending northeast and open in both strike directions, was defined and sampled in 1970. Samples of the mineralization returned grades ranging from 0.02 to 0.32 per cent copper and trace to 0.012 per cent molybdenite. A bulk sample assayed 0.05 per cent copper (Assessment Repot 2648).

The B and S-J groups, totalling 99 claims, were staked by the Taku Syndicate as a result of geological and geochemical work during 1969 and 1970. Work on the showings during 1970 included mapping, a magnetometer survey over 29 line-kilometres, a geochemical stream sediment survey, and trenching. The Syndicate was comprised of New Taku Mines Limited, Home Oil Company Limited, Minorex Ltd., United States Smelting, Refining and Mining Company, and Transcontinental Resources Limited. Exploration of the B, S and J claims focused on the porphyry copper-molybdenum potential of the property. Geological surveys identified five mineralized zones on the claims and reported copper grades ranging from 0.02 per cent to 0.32 per cent and molybdenum grades from trace to 0.12 per cent (Assessment Report 2648). White concluded that copper and molybdenum mineralization was controlled by northeast faulting and fracturing in a quartz monzonite. Little attention was paid to the precious metal potential on the claims.

In 1991 the Sutlahine property was staked by Consolidated Parklane Resources Inc. as the Park 10-13 claims and optioned to Slocan Development Corp. Ltd. The Park claims cover approximately two thirds of the area previously covered by the B, S and J claims, including two of the five copper showings. Work in 1991, consisted of geological mapping (1:5000), prospecting and rock sampling (32 samples), reconnaissance soil sampling (109 samples over 5.1 kilometres) and silt sampling (12 samples). Work on the property during 1991 located several mineral occurrences. A series of east-northeast and north-northwest mineralized joint sets are found on the west side of the ridge along the Park 10-Park 12 claim boundary. This is an area of showings originally found by the Taku Syndicate. Mineralization consists of chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, arsenopyrite and minor molybdenite. Sample 18534, taken from a 10-centimetre-wide zone, yielded copper, lead and silver values. On the east side of the ridge several mineralized, five to six-metre-wide shear zones occur in the quartz monzonite. Samples (18535, 36) of vein material in the shear returned high copper values (1.2 to 2.2 per cent copper; Assessment Report 22208). Samples (18603, 04) of clay altered and sheared quartz monzonite along the ridge crest carry weak copper values. See also the new MINFILE occurrence Park 13 found by Slocan Development in 1991 to the east and southeast that were not part of the original BS and J claims.

In 2020 Brixton Metals Corporation completed 3,025 metres of drilling in 16 core holes on the new Central Outlaw and West Outlaw zones on their Thorn property. A total of 1473 rock samples and 5588 soil samples were also collected throughout their expanded Thorn property including on the West Target area that contains the new Westarg showings, the BS-J (104K 029) showing, and Park 13 (104K 158) showing. Three rock samples were collected in the BS-J vicinity, two of the samples were taken a few hundred metres north-northeast of the BS-J MINFILE plot, and one was taken about 300 metres south of the plot. Two rock samples (one to the northeast of the plot and 1 to the south) graded between 0.1 to 1 per cent copper (Figure 5-15, Press Release, Brixton Metals Corp., Dec.15, 2020).
